WordPress Gutenberg update coming Monday, November 19th – Classic Editor plugin installation recommended
Updated: This update was moved out to Dec. 6th.
I’m writing to alert you of big changes coming with the latest version of WordPress – due to update on Monday, November 19th. This version is called Gutenberg and will transform how your dashboard interface works.
I am recommending that a plugin called Classic Editor is installed prior to this WordPress update. There are often bugs and issues that arise with theme and plugins when major changes are introduced. This plugin installation will make sure that your current editor remains in place for now.
I have recorded a video for you watch that shows you step by step how to install the plugin: https://youtu.be/OkoQcu0Tq3o
At a glace:
- If you see the classic editor notice on the dashboard, follow those steps to install and activate
- If you don’t see the notice, go to PLUGINS, all plugins and see if “Classic Editor” is installed
- If not, go to add plugin, search for Classic Editor By WordPress Contributors and follow those steps to install and activate
- If it is installed, you are good to go.
If you need any help, please reach out so I can assist you!
