Setting up a WordPress.com account

Setting up a WordPress.com account with the WordPress.com logo on a white background.

Jetpack is one of the most used plugins for WordPress. It has many features that I routinely set up for clients, including simple site statistics, brute force attack protection, and sharing features. The free version is fine for all of these offerings.

In order to connect your plugin, I need you to set up a WordPress.com account.  Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1) Sign up for an account

Example of signing up for WordPress.com

Step 2) Verify your email address.  They will send you an email and you must verify your account.

Step 3) Once you find the email, click to confirm your account.  If you don’t see it in your inbox, check your spam folder.  It comes from donotreply@wordpress.com.

Step 4) After you confirm your account, you will be sent to WordPress.com.

Step 5) Go ahead and close your window.  You don’t need to do anything else on your own.

Simple EMAIL Webcami your USERNAME and PASSWORD. Do this in two emails if you like for safety.

I can then connect your account through your website and activate the features we need.
