Webcami Site Design has been building web experiences since 2002 and in that time I have gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge. I created this FAQ page to answer many of the frequently asked questions I've been asked over the years.
I work primarily with small businesses, 1-25 employees and work across many industries and organizations nationwide.
The typical project price range is $1500-$8500
You might be asking, why is the price range so wide? I hope this example can clarify. A four page website using a template with a small amount of customization is quite different than a custom designed website with dozens of pages, a drag and drop editor and a portfolio. Each project is different. Knowing the number of pages and features you want is key. Fill out my project application to help me determine what you might need.
The amount of time it takes to put together all the elements of a website varies greatly. All estimated completion times are approximate. It is a good rule of thumb to expect the completion of a site to take anywhere from 4-12 weeks after all the content has been provided by you or others you have hired. I will send you updates periodically as we work.
Timeline example: You provide all your content on May 1st and I’ve estimated 8 weeks to completion, that means your website will be published on or near July 1st. If you have a delay in getting me all your content, that time frame is pushed out accordingly. If I receive your content on June 1st, your estimated completion is now August 1st.
All projects require a 1/3 deposit (min. $250) along with a signed contract. Balance is due 20 days after your invoice is issued for a completed site. All terms and information is included in my contract.
I accept cash, checks and credit cards via PayPal online.
A domain name is your address on the internet. It will most likely end in .com. It costs approximately $15 a year for your domain name. I recommend GoDaddy for domain registrations.
Website hosting is a place you "rent space" to keep your website files. Your domain name will point to these files and this is what makes your website appear on the world wide web. I do not provide web hosting but I will help you set up your account if you need it.
Shared web hosting will cost you approximately $60- $120 annually, depending on your needs. I recommend GoDaddy Managed WordPress for web hosting.
It very important that your domain and hosting are in your name for many reasons. I recommend GoDaddy for domain registration and hosting and will assist you in setting up an account in your name at GoDaddy or a provider of your choice. I do not offer hosting services.
I don't provide email set up or IT services. I will link your email on your website and configure your forms to your email account. But you will need an IT professional to assist you with set up of your email accounts on your computers and phones. I have a trusted referral partner I can put you in contact with if you need help!
Webcami Site Design does WordPress web design only. If you need a graphic designer or help with your branding, I have a wonderful professional to introduce you to!
I do not provide any copy-writing or text editing services. All website text must be fully edited. I have a great network of copywriters I can introduce you to!
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a web search engine's unpaid results—often referred to as "natural", "organic", or "earned" results.
Bottom line, it's showing up on Google search.
Webcami Site Design provides on-site SEO services. Your website framework and theme will be SEO friendly. I will install a basic SEO plugin and if you provide them, enter your keywords and page descriptions for you.
Webcami does not provide any pay-per-click or Google Adwords campaigns. For full service SEO, I have referral partners to send you to.
A robust SEO campaign will cost you anywhere from $1000-$2500+ per month.
Webcami Site Design focuses exclusively on WordPress web design. The only other platform I work with is Shopify. And that is only on a consultation basis.
If you want to convert your site to a self-hosted WordPress site, the answer is YES!
I do not provide services for WordPress.com websites. WordPress has two different delivery methods. WordPress.com is the retail side of WordPress and a place you can set up and host a website for free. It's for the do-it- yourself crowd and a great way to get a website up without a big investment. WordPress.org is where you can download your own version of WordPress on your own hosting (self-hosted) and customized beyond what WordPress.com has to offer. Think of .org as the wholesale version.
All websites designed by Webcami are self-hosted WordPress websites.
