I know navigating web design can be tricky, so I’m here to help with clear and straightforward answers to your most common questions.
General FAQs
Since custom web design is unique to each project, custom estimates are required. Comparing it to a house, asking 'how much does a house cost?' depends on factors such as location, square footage, and construction.
Most websites I build are in the $3000-$6000 range, but each project is different. In the proposal process, we'll discuss the number of pages and features you require to create a customized estimate.
All estimated completion times are approximate and based on the size and scope of the website design. Most projects take 90 days to launch. It is a good rule of thumb to expect the completion of a site to take anywhere from 8-20 weeks after all the content has been provided by you or others you have hired. I will send you updates periodically as we work.
Timeline example: You provide all your content on May 1st and I’ve estimated 8 weeks to completion, that means your website will be published on or near July 1st. If you have a delay in getting me all your content, that time frame is pushed out accordingly. If I receive your content on June 1st, your estimated completion is now August 1st.
Yes. I have a web design contract that must be signed before any project begins. I do not make any changes/edits to my contract for any reason.
All new projects are paid with monthly installments using PayPal or Stripe. The first payment is always a non-refundable deposit.

No. I have chosen to concentrate my efforts on local and domestic projects. I believe that maintaining close geographical proximity to my clients enhances communication, enables more timely and effective collaboration, and ensures I can provide the high level of personalized service that defines my work.
It very important that your domain and hosting are in your name for many reasons. I recommend GoDaddy or Namecheap for domain registration and will assist you in setting up an account in your name at GoDaddy or a provider of your choice.
There are many options for hosting and we can discuss after you share your specific needs with me.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a web search engine's unpaid results—often referred to as "natural", "organic", or "earned" results.
Bottom line, it's showing up on Google search.

I also offer a one-page website design package at a budget price that does not use a CMS (content management system) and is non-transferable.
No, in-person meetings are no longer available. All meetings will now be conducted via Zoom or phone calls.
Care Plan FAQs
Just like any software that you have on your computer or phone, WordPress needs to be updated on a regular basis. Updated versions are released frequently. Updating your WordPress site may seem cumbersome, but it’s very important.
No. Having a website that is updated and backed up can lessen the odds of a hack, but nothing is foolproof when it comes to hacking these days. I can only offer you services that can keep your site updated and backed up. Hosting can go down for many reasons and no hosting company will guarantee 100% uptime.
Please do keep in mind that I’m not a 24/7 operation with a team of designers. It’s just me. I will respond as quickly as I can but this doesn’t mean instantly.
First, we roll your website back to an earlier time. In some cases, a maintenance message will be placed on your site while or until I can restore your files. Every case is different and not all fixes are quick. One good note is, I will restore it so you don’t have to! And the restoration of files is included in your WordPress Care Plan.
In some instances, I may ask you to change your hosting company. This can be helpful because many times, the hackers come back and your hosting company might be part of the problem.
If you can wait for me to work you into my schedule, I'd be happy to help at our contracted hourly rate. However, my schedule will no longer allow immediate help for clients who maintain websites independently.
If you are looking for immediate help for your hacked website and are currently not enrolled in my care plan services, I recommend signing up for a basic cleanup plan at Sucuri.net. See pricing here.
Month-to-month care plans can be paid with PayPal or Stripe monthly and canceled at any time. No refunds are given for unused monthly time.
Annual payments are accepted via PayPal, Stripe, or by check. No refunds are given for annual payments.
Add-on services have the same general rules.
Invoices are Net 20.
I am making an investment in a product for designers that will allow me to keep an eye on client websites with more control than I’ve ever had before.
I will install the WebCami Care Plan plugin on your dashboard which will allow me to see your site in a management tool that alerts me when you need updates, set and monitor backups, restore your site to an earlier date and run malware scans.
If you are a new client I do require you to sign my general contract.
If you are an existing client, you do not need to sign an additional contract.
I would have to review your website to give you a definitive answer, but often the answer is YES! A website evaluation will be needed.
