Webcami is participating in a fundraiser for the West Seattle High School Baseball Booster’s club. As many of you know, Buick has long been a Little Leaguer and this year, started playing baseball at high school. He’s a sophomore on the JV team and having a great time.

West Seattle High School has been lucky to be one of the teams that gets to play each year at Safeco Field in the High School Baseball Classic.  It’s a Varsity game and JV also suits up to enjoy the dugout and warm up.  Next year, Buick hopes to get to take the field!  It was fun to watch all his buddies have their names announced at Safeco and to see their names in lights!

Every year, the team must sell at total of 1,000 tickets to do so.  I’ve set a goal to sell 50 tickets this year.  I’ve purchased 10 on my own and I’m reaching out to clients, family and friends to help me make it over the top.  THEY MAKE GREAT THANK YOU GIFTS for CLIENTS!

All the seats are in the 300 level, but don’t forget, you can always go get a beer in center field!  I will do my best to make sure your seats are together or in the same general area.  Last year, it was quite easy to move around!

They send the forms below to domain owners and ask for a renewal – at a very high price ($35 a year) and you are paying to renew a domain they don’t even hold.  They then instruct you to transfer your domain name to their control.  Domain names should cost you no more than $15 a year.  They send this to you MONTHS before your domain expires!  The website they reference is www.droa.com.

On this WIKIPEDIA page, you can see this referred to as DOMAIN SLAMMING and it mentions this company.

TRASH IT!  If you paid them with a credit card, immediately call your credit card company and ask them to reverse the charge!

It’s  the fifth anniversary of the West Seattle 5K Run/Walk to benefit West Seattle High School. Funds from the 2013 West Seattle 5K will be used to improve math, science, music and drama programs and communications at WSHS.

My son is a student at WSHS and I can’t say enough about the parents that volunteer to make things better for our students. I was contacted to help with updates to the existing site and offered to give them an overhaul.

It doesn’t get better than this.  This is one of my favorite spots to work and meet clients.  C&P Coffee is warm and cozy.  A happy place to be.  It can get crowded.  I try to arrive at least 2o minutes in advance of meeting to find a good table.

Owner PJ Glassey and I are members of the same BNI Group in West Seattle and when he approached me in 2010 to redo his site, I was not certain I was the right person.  His site is quite large, over 111 posts and pages.  There is a membership log in and also a lot of custom coded features.  I wasn’t sure I could meet his design needs.

In 2011, I started working out at X Gym.  That voice of doubt I had started to disappear with my interactions with PJ, the gym, and most importantly, the brain training that was part of my workout.

We’ve been working very hard together over the last year to find the right fit for PJ’s site and the end result is something I’m very proud of.  What did PJ end up with?

• Site is designed using a customized version of the Studiopress Associate theme.
• Site has fully functioning widgets so he can control all sidebars on his own.
• We replaced a single recipe page with a separate categorized post for each recipe.  This way, his clients can search and view recipes more easily.
• His version of WordPress is easy to update on his own.

Custom designed WordPress site can be very powerful for controlling the look and feel for a site, but can sometimes leave a client with big issues when they want to make changes on their own.  I really strive to give my client something they are empowered to update on their own.  I know PJ will be able to grow this site with his company and we’ve set up structures that will work for many years to come! I’ve also helped PJ with his Facebook pages!

Lacks personality.  Feels like I’m in a big box chain.  But they are very accommodating with plug-in options.  Gets busy during Boeing lunch.  Best from 9-11 am and 1-3pm.  Great for meeting clients from Renton, Kent, Tukwila.  Great location to make a stop at Fry’s while you are in the neighborhood (or other shopping destinations for that matter!)
